LOVELYZ were the first girl group formed by woollim entertainment and were expected to be a female counterpart to the company's flagship group, infinite, but instead, they debuted with a cute concept that was polar opposite to theirs.
with the help of production team onepiece, led by famed producer and singer yoon sang, their music developed a trademark sound: elegant synth-pop tinged with bittersweetness and carried by the members' strong vocals.
they've faced many obstacles during their five years as a group, but the members have managed to stick together through thick and thin, developing a loving, almost sister-like group dynamic. though they have an innocent image, non-fans are often surprised to find that the members are extremely sociable and playful with pretty wicked senses of humor. it won't take long for any new fan to find out why their team name couldn't be more fitting for them. ♡

● got her stage name because even though she's lovelyz' oldest member, she's very young at heart
● had the longest training period in the group (5 1/2 years)
● released solo material before lovelyz debuted, and was the first member to write lyrics for the group
● though she's one of lovelyz's vocalists, she actually got into woollim through rapping
● might actually be allergic to all aegyo and is not afraid to show it
● still manages to be super cute without trying....just look at her dimples
● stands at just under 156 cm and just happens to share a name with the tallest member, which makes for a really amusing height difference
YOO JIAE

JISOO'S SCANDAL
very shortly before lovelyz's debut, jisoo faced false allegations of abuse; they caused such a great strain on her mental health that she had to sit out of promotions for almost a year. the evidence used against her was debunked, and in mid-2016, the scandal finally came to an end when her three accusers were penalized for cyberbullying.
